These amazing old advertisements for computers are really funny to us now. These are from the days where they still had to convince us that computers weren't an instrument of the devil, and that we would find them affordable and useful. From promises of better productivity to making us think it was sexy to have a computer, the advertisers pimped out Leonardo DaVinci and Dom Delouise to hawk their wares.
Having imagination and some free time on your hands can end up in making finger art ;)
It looks like the author had a lot of fun.

After the devastating earthquake and tsunami, which followed afterwards, a huge blast was observed at the Fukushima-Daiichi atomic power plant that caused the radiation leak.
After the earthquake hit Japan, in several of the reactors at the two Fukushima plants the cooling systems failed and “without cooling, the temperature in the reactor core builds, with the risk that it could melt through its container into the building housing the system.” It also causes pressure in the containers where the reactor is situated.
The Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan declared that the amount of radiation released was "tiny." We sure hope so… but could this be another Chernobyl??
After the jump, you’ll also see the most recent photos of the consequences of the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on Friday.

This little fella’s name is Junrey Balawing. He is 17 years old but looks like a one-year-old toddler standing at a mere 22 inches. He lives in Philippines and has three other siblings who are of normal size. Despite the fact that Junrey needs some help to walk and can’t stand for too long because of the pain, the young man never loses his smile. In June when he turns 18, Junrey is expected to get the title of the world’s smallest man according to the Guinness World Records.
Perhaps technology wasn't an option for their publicity campaign, as a group of people spent one month building an actual sign complete with small details like a woman riding a sheep (which doesn't even show in the final images). I'm pretty sure these guys were the overachievers in the gifted class at school. The image turned out beautiful as an advertisement for the city, but had they done it in computer 3d, they could have even adjusted it for each season by a few clicks of the keyboard. I'm sure it was a labor of love for them, but such an old fashioned way to go about achieving their goal. Go Gent.
You gotta love him or hate him!
