When an elephant dies in Zimbabwe, as these photos show, it doesn’t stick around for long. Poverty does some strange things to people and one of the things it does is make them hungry. So when villagers came across this dead elephant they just naturally had to butcher it and take it home to cook and eat. I wonder if it tastes like chicken?  This collection belongs to the category of “sad things that happened.” These people went into another world for various reasons, which we won’t talk about today. Just let's remember them… R.I.P. Patrick Swayze, 1952-2009  Those objects are part of an exhibition that took place at the Palazzo Reale, Milan, Italy. You will see a cradle, a baby carriage and a baby walker all created by the Chinese artist Shi Jinsong. The thing is, they are very unconventional and dangerous. I think it’s brilliant, as long as it stays in exposition only.. ))  A shocking demonstration organized by activists advocating the rights of animals took place in the downtown of Madrid. Members of the Organization "Igualdad Animal" came to the central area of the city carrying about a hundred carcasses of killed animals. There’s only one question to it all, where did they find so many dead animals?  You can believe in it or not, you can have doubts about it, but they do exist and this is a fact. Their existence is contrary to all laws of nature. The riddle of the preservation of these corpses is not solved today. There is only a scientific hypothesis that these bodies were kept in rooms with such a composition of air, in which the processes of body’s decay is very much slowed down.  I never imagined that one could make art with dead flies… Despite the fact that it’s pretty weird, I must say it’s very creative and quite funny. You should take a look.  Artist Luke Jerram has created some of the world’s deadliest viruses and bacteria in glass for his Viral Sculptures exhibition which will be held in London at The Smithfield Gallery, from the 22nd of September to the 3rd of October. He made those masterpieces with the help of virologists and scientific photographs and the help of a team of glassblowers. We often see pictures of viruses and bacteria in colors but they are actually transparent, so Luke Jerram created each virus and bacterium in its natural colorness state. Take a look at his impressive and very original work inside the post.  Once the world's fourth-largest inland saline body of water, the Aral Sea has been steadily shrinking since the 1960s, after the rivers Amu Darya and Syr Darya that fed it were diverted by Soviet Union irrigation projects. By 2004, the sea had shrunk to 25% of its original surface area, and a nearly fivefold increase in salinity had killed most of its natural flora and fauna. The once prosperous fishing industry has been virtually destroyed, and former fishing towns along the original shores have become ship graveyards.  The artist Kacper Hamilton, inspired by the seven deadly sins, designed a quite interesting series of glasses. He did a good job, so don’t hesitate to take a look inside the post.  Here is the last most bizarre fashion thing I’ve seen, maybe simply the weirdest ever. To each his own fashion, style, tastes…bla bla bla I know - but dead animals as jewelry I say WTF and hell no! Creativity has no limits but good taste and common sense certainly have one. And what about you, would you dare wearing such things? She makes jewelry from people’s cremated ashes and hair. So, if you wanna always have something from a person you loved, you can address to her and you’ll get some of her “Mourning Objects”. As for me, this concept is creepy as hell…  We learned that Michael Jackson has died several minutes ago. The music legend, the king of pop died at the age of 50. According to TMZ website, Michael suffered a cardiac arrest at his Holmby Hills home and paramedics couldn’t reanimate him. When he was brought to hospital he was already dead, the staff tried to resuscitate him but in vain.  Children in India begin to learn how to charm snakes at the age of two. What is interesting is that children play with these dangerous and deadly predators as they were their toys.  |
