Wieliczka salt mine, near Krakow, Poland, shows that salt can be an art material too! The mine was first opened in the 13th century, and today, it’s a part of the First UNESCO World Heritage List. And for a good reason! The salt mine, which reaches -327 meters at its deepest point, features underground lakes, 2,000 chambers, and chapels equipped with enormous chandeliers.

A French mailman named Ferdinand Cheval spent 33 years building the “Palais Ideal” between the years of 1879 and 1912. He used only cement and rocks that he collected on his mail route and the finished building is now a tourist monument in France.

This palace was hand built by postman Ferdinand Cheval. It took him 33 years to build and he calls it Palais ideal. It is a great reminder that a person can do anything with sufficient passion, effort, and time.

Supposedly, these are leaked photographs of “Putin’s Palace” that is built near Novorossiysk, on the Black Sea. This mansion is almost finished, judging by the pictures. Its construction is worth $1 billion, according to Russian businessman Sergei Kolesnikov who announced this number in his letter to President Dmitry Medvedev. Prime Minister’s press office denies that this building belongs to Putin. Inside this post, you can see outside and inside photos of this beautiful, luxurious and huge mansion built in Russia.

Beautiful caves with giant crystals were found by cavers in Mexico. Two amazing chambers of crystals known as The Cave of Crystals and The Cave of Swords are about 1000 feet down in the limestone host rock of the Naica Mine. This is a real world wonder that reminds of a dreamlike crystal palace.
