Wieliczka salt mine, near Krakow, Poland, shows that salt can be an art material too! The mine was first opened in the 13th century, and today, it’s a part of the First UNESCO World Heritage List. And for a good reason! The salt mine, which reaches -327 meters at its deepest point, features underground lakes, 2,000 chambers, and chapels equipped with enormous chandeliers.

Zdzisław Beksiński became famous for his surreal paintings that, how he said himself, “photograph dreams”. And they indeed can carry you into the delirious world of nightmares.
