Street gangs first appeared in South Africa during the apartheid regime in the 1950s, after the so-called “colored community” was relocated to racially designated sections. Many residents felt there was a limited police presence in their communities so they organized themselves into gangs who obtained payment for protecting others.

These photos were taken by gang members.

When Pulp Fiction was released in 1994, somebody created these cool drawings. The whole idea is just incredible!

Here is a little compilation of different mobsters from around the world. Some of them look really nasty, worse than some heavy drunkards.

Many people call Rio de Janeiro one of the world’s most violent cities. Why? You can see everything yourself, because the gangsters’ paradise has been documented by photographer Joao de Carvalho from Portugal. He took many pictures of local drug traffickers and gangs who are often the bosses of communities where Brazilian state does not exist. At the age of 18 these guys provide neighbors with many basic needs, including food and medicines.

The guys in here are some serious gangsters...
