Yesterday we posted beautiful babies asleep, today the post is about children from the past and the way they were. There’s something mysterious in the vintage pictures and it acts as a magnet that can make us look at them for a long minutes. I don’t know about you, but that how it happens with me. I just love old pictures that made it through history to reach us and can tell a thing or two…

The grandma in these photos is really trying to be part of the punk generation. I don’t know how successful she is being but she does appear to be having a good time. Nevertheless, I don’t think she will be having her grandkids over for dinner this Sunday.

The Garbage Pail kids in these photos are nothing short of disgusting. I don’t know who collects these things but they need to find a new hobby. They don’t even have a face a Mother could have.

The middle finger has a language all of its own that everyone understands. We had already pictures with adults showing the finger and this time it’s kids.
I won’t profess to speak to the appropriateness of the gesture but it is clearly understood by all. Especially by those who receive it.

It is a natural fact that all kids love candy. However, is also a fact that not all kids have the luxury of being able to eat candy or in many cases even enough food to eat. People who live in third world and other poor countries simple don’t have enough money to be able to afford such luxuries as candy for their children. They are lucky if they can afford a roof over their heads and food to eat. That is why there is candy for some, but not all n_sad

Roddler is nowadays the coolest stroller built for kids.
There are several types of Roddler which you’ll see on the pictures inside the post.
Though, it is a little bit pricey: from $2,000 to 2,500; But I think it’s worth it.

Those photos were taken in a train somewhere in Northern India. They show homeless Indian kids begging for money.
Maybe those pics will make you think of Slumdog Millionaire if you’ve seen the movie.
Anyway, it’s quite sad..

It looks like a children’s book but it’s actually an ad for Beate Uhse – a German adult TV channel!
Kids won’t see it, but you will, that’s for sure ))

Very cute pictures of fathers with their children. It is something usual to see a mother with her child on a picture, but when you see a father so loving and caring, it is someway even cuter. And sometimes, when they play with their children, they also remind ‘big kids’ themselves :)

Ross Horsley, an English librarian, has revised the concept of ‘My First Dictionary’.
It’s quite the same, one picture and one definition, except this time, kids should never see these definitions! :))
It’s really great stuff though, so don’t miss it!

KidZania is a Mexican chain of family entertainment centers currently operating in 6 locations.
Every KidZania is themed as a child-sized replica of a real city, including buildings, shops and theaters, as well as vehicles and pedestrians moving along its streets. In this city, children, aged 2 through 14, learn about the adult world, the value of money and work, by experiencing up to 70 different professions. Every “professional” activity lasts 30 minutes and parents don’t have the right to interrupt or to interfere in any other manner while their offspring is “working”.
It proofed to be so successful that the other Kidzanias appeared throughout the world. Tokyo was the third city to create a replica city for children in October 2006. The first year of operations had 905,000 visitors, and has been keeping steady.
So here are pictures from the Japanese KidZania!

You have probably heard about the horrible story of Jaycee Lee Dugard, the girl who was kidnapped for 18 years and has recently been rediscovered. For those who don’t know anything about that, here is the story: Jaycee was kidnapped at a school bus stop in South Lake Tahoe (California) in 1991 when she was only 11-year old. She has been confined for 18 years in Antioch, at around 200 miles from where she was abducted by the couple Philipp Garrido (58) and Nancy Garrido until few days ago, when she entered in contact with a police officer and revealed that she was the girl abducted 18 years ago. Her identity was confirmed the following day. She was not only kidnapped, but she was raped many times by Philipp Garrido, giving birth twice, when she was 14 and then 18. She lived behind the home of the couple with her 2 daughters, who are now 11 and 15, until a few days ago. She lived in a series of tents, tarps and wooden structures behind the home of the Garridos in the yard surrounded by high fences and large trees.
I could continue for along time to tell the story with more details, but I think the essential is said and if you want to, you can find more information over the web and in the press.
That said, you will find inside the post a series of photos of the place where Jaycee Lee Dugard (29) had to live.

This 98-inch plasma TV was mounted in the ceiling by the parents as a present to their kid.
According to the mother, her son loves playing computer games and watching videos.
Though, it only encourages your kid to lie all day long in your bed, doing nothing apart spoiling his eyes and making him lazy. But truth to be told, I wouldn’t say no if my parents did the same when I was a younger ;)

It is horrible to imagine that such thing can be inside of a human body.
It is even more horrible to imagine how it can be extracted from there.
Here’s the story of one kidney stone which weighs only 1 kilogram after the jump.
