Soldiers coming back home make their dogs more than happy! That’s what is great with dogs, the longer you are absent, the happier they are to see you. I think this is one of their best qualities.
So here are 4 videos of overjoyed dogs that have never been so happy ))

These 3D stereoviews were made in the late 19th - early 20th century by known Japanese photographer T. Enami.
Normally, stereoviews consist of two almost identical photos and when viewed through a stereoscope, it gives the impression of three-dimensional space.
Now let's look at these 3D steroviews, but the good thing is, we won’t need any stereoscopes as they are already animated, but the effect is still the same ))

You can hardly make more useless! I’ve seen lots of goldplated stuff, but I’ve got to admit, I would have never thought of goldplated staples…
140 euros for 24 staples. Who will pay for that?

This is actually a game (if we can call it that way) published at the end of the magazine Life, 16 Oct. 1939.
One had to fold the paper according to the written instructions.
Can you guess what will appear on the paper once folded properly? ))

In 1533, a Portuguese trading ship carrying a fortune in gold and ivory was swept ashore and wrecked by a winter storm. It was only found last year on a beach in southern Namibia.
Ironically, the ship, believed to be the nau Bom Jesus, wrecked on a beach rich with diamonds and named ‘Sperrgebiet’ which means "forbidden zone" in German.

Chinese prepare to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The celebration takes place on October 1.
And it is poor soldiers who are in the most difficult position while preparing for the parade ;)
A great piece of work.

Ian Fisher, a young American soldier, has been followed by reporters and a photographer for 27 months (June 2007 to September 2009). His family, his friends and the US Army allowed them to take photos and write about his life as a soldier, from the recruitment to his return from combat.
This is an interesting photo journey.

Many people throw out old, unnecessary things, but if you have a little imagination, they can still be useful.
Excellent and very creative selection. Recommended to view.

Very interesting idea and realisation. The idea is to recreate the old video games scenes from Lego.
Unfortunately, the author abandoned the project in 2006.

American soldiers who were wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan, after being in hospital don’t immediately go home.
First, they are sent to special camps where they undergo rehabilitation and restore the moral and physical strength.
They go fishing, riding a horse, rafting or doing other different kinds of activities and simply enjoy nature.
They can stay in the camp as long as they want to, until they feel that they are ready and want to return to normal life.

To take these photos, thousands of soldiers and officers of the U.S. army had to participate.
The main aim of these works was to restore the old image of national identity at a time when the United States entered the First World War. It is just a great view.
Authors: Arthur S Mole English and American colleague John D. Thomas.

Nikolai Aldunin is called the master of miniatures.
He put horseshoes on a flea as well as saddle and stirrups, he also put 7 camels in the eye of a needle and a replica of a Russian samovar that is smaller than a grain of sugar, he made a tank on a sliced apple seed - it is almost impossible to believe.
Nevertheless, it is real and everything is crafted out of gold. Like many other artists who make miniature sculptures, Nikolai crafts between the beats of the heart that allows him to reduce the shaking of hands. This is very interesting to see.

All of these bullets date back to the 19th century, or more precisely to the Crimean War. But they resemble some kind of “mini-bombs”.
I can imagine what damage could cause such “giants” to the human body.
For comparison, on the last one in the lower right corner you can see a bullet from a 5,45mm АК-74. As for me, the difference is obvious.
