Jets not only fly transporting passengers from one country to another. Airplanes are also used like hotels and even houses. It looks pretty exotic to stay in such a luxurious jet room, doesn’t it? 
This flying-sailing “monster” was built by Russians in the former USSR. At those times Russians seemed to know how to make water planes look like huge iron “pterosaurs”. I wonder how safe this tank-ship-bird must have been. See more pictures after the break.
 The base in these photos is home to the 309th Aerospace Maintenance And Regeneration Group (309 AMARG) which repairs some of the aircraft and even gets some of them flying again. Electronics, wiring, munitions, and engines are all recycled to help reduce the cost of maintaining today’s fleet. The U.S. government even allows the military in other countries to buy parts and planes from the site. The facility is the size of 1,300 football fields. The desert is a perfect place to store the mass of steel, because the small amount of rainfall means low humidity which means very little rust occurs.  These photos by Martin Rietze appear to be of landscapes from another planet. They were in fact, of course, taken right here on planet earth. From beautiful light shows provided by volcanoes to strange rock formations, these photos seem to be from some alien planet.  These photos were taken in a hangar at Dulles. It collapsed because of heavy snowfalls that were ravaging the region ... Apparently, the hanger was not built to withstand such violent snow storms.  Haven’t you ever wanted to jump out of a flying airplane? Well, it’s a good thing some folks like to or we wouldn’t have these breathtaking photos to show you. Along with the blue skies and fluffy clouds these photos are truly amazing.  You guess is as good as any ones. Candy bars? Jewels? What exactly is it in these photos? Are they even from this planet? Thanks a ton :) Did anybody imagine that cars could ever fly? Here is the Terrafugia Transition that combines the unique convenience of being able to fold its wings with the ability to drive on any road in a modern personal airplane platform. Stowing the wings for road use and deploying them for flight at the airport is activated from inside the cockpit. Moreover you do not need a trailer or a hangar for it. You can get this by paying $194,000. See after the jump the wonders of technology.  Cabins of Boeing 747 airplanes at Air New Zealand have been seriously updated. The majority of the changes have been made to both the premium economy and the economy sections. The changes include eleven rows of Skycouches which can be converted into twin flat beds suitable for two people. However, you can also find iPod connectors, power sockets, and USB ports in each and every single coach seat.  It offers a hostess on duty 24/7, a Jacuzzi, a sauna, a Blu ray DVD player, as many as three flat screen TVs and, above all, a comfortable room all to yourself. These luxury accommodations that have all the accoutrements of a luxury hotel are provided courtesy of a Cold War era East German airplane that has been turned into a hotel which is located at Teuge Airport, Netherlands. It is truly a unique airplane which will cost you a pretty penny should you decide you want to stay in a plane that stays grounded outside the airport.  What are the risks of an airplane attack? They also call it the Silver Bullet!  The pictures of this incredible plane replica was sent us by our visitor Tim Hawkins. Thanks a lot Tim :) This model airplane of a P-51D Mustang was built by Young C Park, from Honolulu, who is a retired dentist and used some of his instruments to build it. To accomplish this task, he spent 6,000 hours during three years on it. It is built on a 1/16 scale and what is amazing is that every part is fully functional!!! Hats off to the creator!  Another set of pictures depicting the adventures of Lego Star Wars figurines. This time it is on the planet Hoth. It must be freezing out there :)  Everything in that airliner is about comfort and luxury. It’s impressive. I wonder what’s the cost of a 1st class ticket. Don’t miss.  Anthony Toth, 42, built a replica of a first-class cabin from a Pan Am World Airways 747 in his garage! He has spent more than 20 years on his creation of a Pan Am cabin and he estimates he has spent around $50,000 on the project. I think it’s pretty well done, but I would never spend $50k and 20 years of my life for that…  Two Canadian fishermen decided to fly fishing on their private plane, but nothing happened the way they planned. The bear smelled the fish and threw itself on the plane. What a tremendous strength, just look what he did with it.  It happened in Russia. Though the engine was damaged, it wasn’t a problem to land. But it was impossible to take off, they had to fix the problem right on place. They did not even repair the engine, they put a brand new one from Air France. The difficult part was to work outside and the weather was pretty cold. You’ll see pics of the replacement and pics of the damaged engine inside the post.
