 Celebrities may be the chosen people with all the glamour and glory but as these photos show, they age just like the rest of us. Admittedly, some of them do it with considerably more grace than we do but they age nevertheless. Time seems to fly by, whether you are a celebrity or not. Jim Carrey (1998, 2009)  Chelsea Clinton (1996, 2009)  The 'Tough Guy' competition is held annually in Perton, Staffordshire in which thousands of men participate and prove their strength. We showed pictures of how was going the ‘Tough Guy Race’ last year and here are some fresh pics that show you that it is not easy to get on this race and it was even tougher this time. Hold your breath and have a look.  The Dakar is an annual rally raid type of off-road automobile race. Most events since the inception in 1978 were from Paris, France to Dakar, Senegal, but due to security threats in Mauritania, the 2009 Dakar Rally was run in South America (Argentina and Chile), the first time the race took place outside of Europe and Africa. It returned to South America this year too. The race will finish in Buenos Aires. The participants will have to run for 9,000 kilometers. Very exciting and spectacular race!  Annually, MAD club organizes the New Year charity race called Hoar Cross Downhill Soap Box. The race is run over a 1.25 mile course downhill, so all who want to participate in the race come here every time as well as thousands of visitors because the most unthinkable carts are involved in the competition.  Interesting pieces of art created by Russian design company Art. Lebedev Studio. There’s a bracelet and a necklace. Check it out.  Look closely at the photo, there is one person with some kind of weird thing on his head.  Drag boat racer Quinton Knight crashed his boat but happily he had minor injuries – he broke his leg, in comparison to what could have happened to him in this accident. Drag racing is considered to be one of the most dangerous sports in the world as the lightweight boats are easily crashed and burst into flames. Anyways, the pictures are impressive!  Two Russian traceurs in Saint Petersburg made an incredible jump from a nine-story building (35 feet high) to land on mattresses of the five-storey building roof (22 feet high). It looks very impressive and don’t worry, the two jumps were successful. And this was not some kind of training for a movie just two guys who are passionate about Parkour. Hats off, guys! This is a really good animation, made entirely by one man only in 110 days. Kudos to him…  Idiots! If you want to race, do it on a race track…  The Formula One demo races took place in Moscow last weekend and something interesting happened just before the race. An expensive blue Bugatti crashed into a fence. Happily, the driver and the passenger were not hurt but the super car is not in a good shape anymore. Quite an expensive accident and it’s a shame ‘cause it was a beautiful car… I let you take a look on the pics inside the post.  Sometimes it ends like this ))  On the first photo you can see the Italian Olympic swimmer Flavia Zoccari in tears. Do you think she lost the race? In fact, she didn’t even participate. To see why - look inside the post.  Here’s an interesting story about two competing teams which can mean more than just a funny story. Perhaps you can see that in some enterprises they use the same system.  On June 14 on a Knockhill race track in Scotland, the pilot behind the wheel of the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera tried to pass the good old Subaru. Not only his attempt ended at the hospital but he also almost ran over one of the photographers. The latter, obviously, was a very lucky man.  I am 100% sure that you won’t guess ;)  In this type of race the most interesting thing happens at the very end. Edit: it seems that we got wrong the information about this race. We decided to quote our visitor who left us an informative comment. You'll see it inside the post.  The 2008-2009 Volvo Ocean Race has arrived in Boston Harbor. Boston is the 6th port city for the eight teams which will race around the globe for nine months over 37,000 nautical miles split into 10 legs. The ships they sail are Volvo Open 70 class racing yachts, 21.5 meters (70.5 feet) long, manned by a crew of 11. While the ships are in port, they hold in-port races as well as hosting events and entertainment for local residents.  The Kentucky Derby is held annually in Louisville, Kentucky. The race is known in the United States as "The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports" for its approximate duration. Here are some amazing shots from this year race.  The race on Firebird Lake has ended for James Ray with serious injuries. How could he survive such a monstrous accident in his race boat, which is the fastest in the world, at 240 mph? Perhaps it was his capsule that detached in the moment of the accident, perhaps he was very lucky... The important thing is that he stayed alive.
