Some of the most touching moments in the United States Presidents are shown in these photos taken by Charles Ommaney. It is sometimes difficult to remember that, like movie stars, some of the country’s greatest leaders are just people too. Kind of makes you wonder what they are thinking during these reflective moments.  ‘Portraits of Power’ is a photo project of Platon, a staff photographer working for The New Yorker. He took great portraits of various presidents, prime ministers, dictators… during a meeting of the United Nations in New York. Watch them, it’s interesting, and maybe you will learn some stuff…   Here’s Queen Elizabeth. It seems that she’s been here forever, ‘cause since my very young age, I heard of her, read news, learned history with her in it )) And presidents change so quickly that once they get into history books there’s already another one in the office ;) So, here’s a set of pictures with Queen Elizabeth and 11 presidents. On 8 July, the G8 summit was opened and the first and interesting pictures have emerged. Look at the Russian president Dmitry Medvedev, it seems that he is very drunk (or maybe it's just a bad photo angle?) Then, look at how Barack Obama ignored the handshake of Silvio Berlusconi (or perhaps he did not notice it, who knows).  Poor rural residents living near the railway tracks have developed an interesting means of transportation. Most importantly is to clear the rail track quickly before a train arrives.  |
