These photos are of a very cute little marsupial called a Sugar Glider and are from Australia. Marsupials are famous for carrying their young in pouches. Take a look how tiny the Joeys are. They are now legal to own in the United States and are the perfect size for your shirt pocket. ![]() Artist Matthew Albanese created a “Sugarscape” out of corn syrup, jelly, and twenty pounds of sugar. Although the model may look like scene directly from Antarctica it took the artist over two months to grow the crystals in his studio. He also used such materials as paprika for his Martian landscape, cotton and many others to give this incredible illusion of something real. So if you have ever seen a landscape that you thought looked good enough to eat; now you have seen the real thing. It is truly a work of art. ![]() When I saw these pictures, I was very impressed, especially with some of them. Guys from the site SugarStacks tried to give us an idea about how much sugar we can consume if we eat some products. But they note: “We don't differentiate between different types of sugar - i.e., sucrose, fructose, cane sugar, corn syrup, honey, etc., although there are differences in how these sugars are metabolized. We just used cubes of white sugar as a visual aid”. ![]() |
