Illegal whaling is a fairly serious problem today. To fight these "pirates" is difficult, because their vessels are fast enough and equipped with radars. But now, with the appearing of the trimaran Ady Gil, which design allows the wave-piercing, and the speed of about 45 knots, the chances of whalers will highly decrease. It is said that the vessel will be able to physically block Japanese harpoon ships. Well, let's see the pictures of this unusual vessel. ![]() In 1533, a Portuguese trading ship carrying a fortune in gold and ivory was swept ashore and wrecked by a winter storm. It was only found last year on a beach in southern Namibia. Ironically, the ship, believed to be the nau Bom Jesus, wrecked on a beach rich with diamonds and named ‘Sperrgebiet’ which means "forbidden zone" in German. ![]() |
