The pic of the pregnant lady welcoming her husband home from overseas after a year is not a fail. All servicemen get a 2 week leave to come home about 6 months into their deployment.

The deployment picture is not a fail (boy reacting to seeing his father.) Soldiers get 2 weeks leave, called R&R, during a 12 month deployment; most soldiers take it about 6 months in depending. Sometimes a soldier has to take R&R 4 or 5 months in or 7 or 8 months in. A lot of military spouses get pregnant during R&R.
