Depending on how heavy they get with the goggles, masks and chains...the style can be very sexy (and creative. You can't buy a lot of the gear, you have to make it). To me, the style should be more acceptable than say 'emo' because you actually have to put thought and a crapload of money into it. There's a whole personality that goes with the style too. Goths, the new Goths (not the Marilyn Mason 'wear all black with a side of black lipstick' goth), are a nice bunch. Most are very polite, accepting, happy *gasp* and they have the cutest babies ^^ I couldn't never afford or pull off the cybergoth style myself but I do get offended when people call them lame.
i know a few cybergoths and there FUNNY and NICE i agree with what laura said, i would love to pull it off if i had the money goths and cyber goths are some of the nicest people around
I guess the fact that you don't see many 'goths' who look like they're past their 30's or so means that these people do indeed grow up one day and learn to relate to society a little better.
I'm not against goths, but when people use trends/labels and justify that their means are to accept everyone and/or to be true to oneself, it irks.
Being tolerant is just that, being tolerant. Same goes for being true to what you want to be, it does not need to be classified.
Most of these pics in my opinion look cool. Some generic, some bad-ass, some borderline "meh, you try too hard", but I would like to try out the look even if for one day, but it's sadly a fashion mostly targeted for spoiled kids.
really what is wrong with you people. Just see how happy some, not all but some of these people look. It looks like they are living their life. And to me that is respect
Wow. These photos are why so many people have such a negative opinion of goth. Most of these people look like nitwits. Playing dress-up and drawing crap all over your face does not constitute being goth. I have no problem with how anyone chooses to dress or look. More power to them. I hope that they are happy and living wonderful lives. But when stuff like this gets classified as "goth" I do tend to have a problem with that. There has been very little real goth since the late 80s, and there has been a lot of bastardization of the name and what it represents since then. Go listen to some Bauhaus, Siouxsie, The Cure, and Sisters of Mercy. And please stop calling stompy techno music goth. It isn't. Just my two cents from a cranky old goth.
Ok Ok all of them had right to chose how morbid they want to look but, for God save, a little, almost baby, girl wit a white rib dressed in black is too much
gas masks and goggles = part of cyber or cybergoth... it's written in the text above
cyber is a part of gothic
and to the persons writing that they are too much dressed up... the pics are from a gothic festival, i think the WGT, so it's probably not the everyday-outfit of most of them
and btw Vesna80, the child looks like it's dressed in a halloween costume, it's not that horrible. Want to be outrages about that, just look at Toddlers and Tiaras, children dressed like hookers, getting waxed and whatnot... that's sick.

The whole point about goth is to be tolerant towards others. That's what great about it. Too bad there's always someone to ruin the reputation.
