I guess the guy lived a happy life making people laugh and being famous and all. I'm not so sure if he'd be treated any better if he hadn't been famous. sad

He looks really sympathetic. Since the choices for him outside the circus would have been a mental institution or something similar at that time, and he seems happy with the circus, perhaps the circus, and being shown as a freak was better for him anyway. He looks happy in the pictures at least.

Circus folks look after each other. They would have made sure he was cared for.
