I live right outside that place all around the area its called the coal region because their are huge mountains of coal and for the fact there used to be a lot of coal mines and business used to be big back in the day for coal .

@ The creatures in silent hill are just one of the main factors of silent hill. Silent hill to me anyways is more or less about the creepy atmosphere.
