That is a an APC battery backup used from computers or other electronics. If you have a power failure it gives you about 5 minutes of power to save files etc.

That happened to me a couple times. Don't know who broke into my house and replaced the guts of my APC backup supplier, but the rogues did it twice!!! n_recourse
