Poverty is not the lack of possessions. Poverty is the lack of laughter.

It is spelled "Virginia", a land where a virgin is a virgin only as long as she is able to outrun her uncles.

They worked on the farm when they were that age, parents just figured they should work in the cities too. Were they wrong?

Yes, they were quite wrong. Instead of striving to support themselves and contribute to the family they should have been allowed to loaf, play video games, and shoot each other as our cretins are being allowed to do! How dare their parents try to teach them values! That is the government's task!

To the jerks who are making fun of these young people, keep in mind these poor kids worked hard, ten hours a day or more, for little money and in terrible conditions. Most of them had no childhood to speak of. There were no laws to protect them and too many were abused.

I have to agree with 'anon'. A lot of kids today are not only pampered, they are arrogant, selfish, self-centered and nasty. You're in for a surprise, kiddies. The ride is going to get very bumpy.

Poor Buggers...most don't have shoes, most are smoking...I wish my teen son could go back in time and wake him up to real hard working conditions instead of whining he just wants to play on the computer......sheesh...I wonder how many of them got to live to a decent age?

Has anyone else noticed how large these children's feet appear to be? Not a criticism, just curious.
