I agree sitting down to watch someone die while strapped down is barbaric...and boring.I'd rather pay to watch gladiatorial battles between the condemned and I'm betting most of you would too.We are still as cruel and inhumane as we were 2000 years ago(if not more so They didn't have landmines 2000years ago as an example) and we're fools to believe otherwise.Making killing more efficient and sterile doesn't make it any less brutal.

I wonder if they sanitize that 'bed' after each use - you wouldn't want a prisoner to get a disease or skin affliction...

Then the Romans and Greeks must have been barbarians if you think that watching people die is barbaric. It not as if the people there want to be watching someone be killed by lethal injection anyways, they are required by law to be witnesses to testify that the man in question was truly put to death for his crimes (or lack thereof - the justice system is not perfect, but if you're going to bitch about it, just be happy that we have one otherwise you'd be living in a oppressive state)
