if they didnt poot the bottom plan on it the pillars needed be alot longer so they spared on material!
And now boats that have alot more with can go tru that river so its very smart in facts..,

Isn't an arch only strong when it is the other way around? Wouldn't there be even more room for boats then? ;-)
