I saw plenty of those in Istanbul last summmer, they were the size of a spaghetti plate

meh. not even an alarming size. i've seen jellyfishes 5x bigger than that.

this was seen in katerini's beach in northern greece. aegean see is verry close to istanbul so it is likely to see it there too it is 70cm long from head to tail's end ...
