Most of these women are either silent film actresses, singers, Vaudeville stars or from Broadway plays. But I agree with everyone else, they are all beautiful women, regardless of what era they lived in. And yes, saying they have no makeup on is incorrect. They don't have on the heavy eye makeup we favor today, but they are all sporting a heavy pancake foundation that gives their skin that uniform look in every picture. It was necessary for headshots back then because they didn't have the Photoshop type things we do now.

A good selection of photographs. The costumes are beautiful. However many of these photographs would have been re-touched in the photographer's studio, yesterday's equivalent of Photoshop. I have contemporary accounts of photographers doing so and making the actresses of the day look more beautiful.
