Republican = Selfish. Taking up two spots is selfish, therefore you are being a Republican. All Republican policy is based on "mine over ours" even though the wealthy always benefit from the work of many. Hence why most selfish Republican rants are based on why they shouldn't share.
It is not the ability to park that is being equated to political affiliation; rather, it is the perceived superiority in deserving to park in more than one spot (i.e. more than their fare-share of a common resource) that is a Republican trait.
Think of it as the driver saying "I pay taxes, therefore I get to use as many parking spots as I want, all at the same time"...
Which is funny, because if a Republican truly got their way in the U.S. there would be no public parking spaces, and people would just leave their vehicles where-ever they could wedge them (causing crazy-traffic), or in private lots where you'd have to pay for someone else to park your car in a single-spot.
Fare-share? I have shared not one fare with anyone regardless of political party. Furthermore, I was completely unaware of the ability to share fares. Would you be able to provide a list of fares that I can share. Preferable with friends and family, but I am not opposed to sharing my fare with strangers.
