That is a mystery. Apparently the sun never shines on this island, looks like it comes close but never quite makes it. Not much beach time.

I've been to Madeira several times and the quote about the sun never shining on it is bollocks. Unless the sun I saw was disguised as very bright and shiny thing with heat coming off of it....it's gave me a great tan considering it wasn't there.
