No this will not be another Chernobyl. The reason the Chernobyl disaster was so disastrous was because they used solid graphite as moderators in that reactor. Graphite-fires are really hard to put out, so the fires took a long time to put out and thats the reason the radioactivity managed to spread so far.

I am saddened by what has happened, hoping they can quickly get back on their feet but given the physical and moral, they will struggle to recover ... my condolences to the families

But you dont have any other method to shut down soo efectly like graphite cores.
Atomic reactors are most pro ecologic then any other kind of powerhouse, and most safe.

And all those photos are not because reactor big bang, but there was tsunami. You only mess people mind.
