The Shuffle at the Today Show
In 2006, television experienced a major shuffle when Katie Couric left her job at the Today Show and became an anchor for the CBS Evening News and now amidst rumors that she is leaving that job, the TV world is doing the shuffle again with speculation that Meredith Vieira, who replaced Couric at Today is expected to leave when her contract expires later this year. It is believed that Vieira is weary of the early hours and would like to focus on her husband who has multiple sclerosis. Fresh off the heels of the news of Vieira’s possible departure come reports that her co-host Matt Lauer will also step down from his position at the NBC morning show. No word on who will replace the two.
