according to the "cityrating" .com website, the avg temp ranges from 48°F in january to 64°F in september. so it's obviously not northern canada, but i think heat is indeed necessary during the winter.
other point is that land is very expensive in san fran. how many people can afford to rent / own a warehouse there, hmm?
