wrong - those photo were taken using wide angle lense positioned right at the sea level.
i don't think a wide-angle lens alone would have been able to get that 'distance effect' of the top of the water in #2. that is evidently due to the software that stitches the two fotos together, probably built into the camera itself.
not trying to say this way is better, either. personally i prefer wide-angle. this new camera is just another specialised gadget in a world filled with more and more similar crap.

the wave surface is exactly what you'd expect to see, because the upper camera is sitting a couple inches above the water.
