I wouldn’t stay here even if I were paid money for this.
well, you're a comparatively rich westerner who obviously has little idea what life is like in poor countries. but one day things will change and you probably won't be turning up your nose so quickly.

topical cleaning is obviously being done. it's the underlying problems like ancient rugs, out of date interiors, and antique and underfinished plumbing that are the biggest eyesores. and all these things cost money... money which is probably not available for a variety of reasons. furthermore, blaming it all on 'russia' is a basic failure of not seeing the world for what it is, and not understanding the reality of economics.
