This is a testament to the amazing engineering that goes into these planes. However, it seems miraculous that this plane could fl through tennis ball sized hail and land safely, but other planes get taken out by "bird strike".

holy hell... that must have been scary having the windshield almost get smashed in. instant demolition.

a bird in the engine can STOP the engine and/or cause a fire in there. very different situation than having your exterior beat up.
