The one with viruses and anti-virus companies is probably true. At least I know of an Anti-virus that installed virii that it could detect. It was a very curious case, because we had no Internet connection, we used few "suspicious" CD's (we were to poor to have them) and the virii appeared right after using the Anti-virus.
