This seriously kick ass!! It requires a lot of knowledge on how our brain processes colors. Up close, there is a lot of blue beads, but from a distance, no obvious blue colors is visible. Since the beads don't come in many different shades, mixing of colors like this is necessary to create an illusion of different shades of colors in the image.

Wow! Amazing piece of work.
This masterpiece was made with the help of a customized computer program. Joel Brochu had a high definition photo of 4 feet by 1.5 feet (1.2 m by 0.45 m) board as a template for placing each tiny candy bead. At a distance of 16 feet (about 5 m), the sprinkles blur and the human eye is tricked into believing that it’s looking at a huge photograph.
