I would questions the salaries of pilots and AT Controllers. The pilots I know make a hell of a lot less than that and all the documentation of the destruction of the airline unions under the Bush administration clearly shows these numbers to be innaccurate to present reality.

I don't see myself doing any of it. And I don't see myself being able to afford education that would enable me to get a job in any of these fields.

Bullshit, A good surgeon makes $500,000 minimum, and a good airline pilot makes about $30,000. Some pilots flying you around the world are making less than $20,000 to start.
Lawyers make much more than $100K. They charge $400 an hour, and usually are involved in corrupt political scams bringing them kickbacks in the millions. That post is All Bullshit. I wonder about izi sometimes, seems like it's run by stupid rooskie (Russian) teens in a basement.

this list is very incomplete. couple examples:
- current salary (2011) for rank-and-file members of the house and senate is $174,000 per year. (source: about)
- the average NBA player makes around $5 million. MLB, NFL and NHL can't be far. combine that with the fact that there are few other pro leagues for those sports, and the average salary must still come out very high.
- average salary for drug kingpins must also be very high.
