#7 is fine. Some people prefer to use their feet to turn the handle of water tank because they think others do the same, and using hands for that matter grosses them out. The "kicking" would damage the handle easily.

Actually, I do that all the times I use public toiletts, but I do it gently, I don't kick.

If I think toilet handle really is dirty, I take a piece of toilet paper to cover my hand, flush and throw toilet paper into trash can. Using foot....jesus...
