lololololol fact 1: if you believed that it supposed to be true, then you don't have a sense of humour fact 2: that's right, knowledge is power otherwise people who don't have it may think it was posted to give some useful information. fact 3: you are probably one of those people who need a troll face in the end to understand what it’s all about. So please next time, just think harder before commenting
#7 - That's Africa in the picture with "India" written over it; #9 - As an electronist I can't believe that; #16 - Stocholm is in Sweden, not in Finland.
Just proves that if you post something in a serious and self confident manner either people believe everything or they love to point out mistakes. I guess this is a perfect post. Good job. The posts are interesting and funny and the comments are even funnier because people actually feel a need to point out the obvious so they can feel superior to a joke.
Did you know that all those who post idiotic comments here did not even read the introductory sentence, i.e., "Check out these interesting “facts” that will not help you win Trivial Pursuit but could help you garner a few laughs."
1) Lemons and limes are the same family, but actually different tree. However Cytomelmonsis is real bacteria that changes some cats' eyes from blue to yellow as they mature.
2) Yes, nothing prevent you from requesting. Ican kindly request Post Office to deposit few milion dollars to my account. Does not mean it will happen.
3) Special case. Carrot contains 7mg of Vitamine C per 100g. Scorpion as most of the bugs does not. Pleas check Bay Area Bug Eating Society (http://www.planetscott.com/babes/nutrition.asp) for nutritional information about bugs. However scorpions are easily confused and can take Kakadu plum (check wikipedia) for they prey. Kakadu Plum contains up to 5300mg of Vitamine C. So even taking into account how small stomach scorpions have, the total content of vitamine C in the scorpion meal might be greater than 11 carrots.
4) Absolutely not true. In fact it was the american engineer Jonathan Haywood who complained how noisy italian cities are. He suggested that the ice creams representing Naples should be based on three main "colors" of noise - Pink, White and Brown. It was so compelling that it become immediate success. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colors_of_noise).
5) Hahahaha! It is not caused by mercury at all. Second biggest polutant in Lake Michigan is dichlorodiphenyl trichloroethane (DDT) which is insecticide. So fish don't have to catch insects as vast amounts of dead bugs are actually floating on the surface. So fish lost their catching skills. Since most of the bugs there are migratory there are periods (approx once a year) when there is not enough food and fish die of starvation.
6) A cat's saliva contains a natural cleaning and deodorizing agent that helps to maintain his fur's health and keep it fresh smelling. However it is quite potent and kills most of the bacteria. I would not reccomend drinking it as I would not reccomend drinking chlorine bleach (it also has less bacteria than tap water).
7) This is a common misconception. The source is similar to the "spinach iron content" error. when scanning statistics there was a bit of dust that OCR software recognized as digit 3. So the India's production in tones per capita was 32.1 instead of 2.1. The error was referenced in multiple research papers and only corrected in October 2011. Compared with US 24.1 it looked like much bigger amount. Wikipedia now shows correct figures (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenhouse_gas#Top_emitters). However even then it would be 133%
If you like this description I will check other pictures and explain their errors ;) ;)
