I'd like to see how the hot tub was supported. Because the way he re-framed the floor would not support all of the weight from the water. Also - Did he get a building permit to do this or did he just wing it and hope the next buyer isn't smart enough to check?
Since the area below is obviously only crawl space height, it's probably resting on the floor below. At most it's on blocks. Structural concerns for this are zero compared to the moisture issues mentioned above.
So you cut out your floor joists and add no support under them? Good luck re-leveling your floors when they sink in. I also like how there is electrical equipment within hands reach of water.
