What makes it "eco friendly"? Was it the mining of a lot of the materials so the could make the glass and mirrors? Maybe it was all of the electricity for the mill used to make the lumber. Oh I know,it was the diesels used to truck all the supplies back up on to the mountain.

ECO friendly means that it's friendlier than the "normal" way of building. Using your reasoning, living in itself would not be ECO-friendly.
