The real problem is people keep asking to watch more culture & educational shows on TV but the cruel reality is they keep watching bullsh*t programming day after day 'cause thats what they want to watch.

The American public is getting fatter and dumber with every passing decade. Ever see the movie 'Idiocracy'?
That is where we will be in a few years.

Until we complete our descent into fascism, the market will decide what a channel decides to air.

"The welfare of humanity is always the alibi of tyrants." applies to those who wish to control your television programming as well as to social programs.

Enter: The Green Religion...

But at the end of the day... people just want to relax after their bullshit job or bullshit day at school and be entertained... isnt that exactly why we are all on this site??? Being entertained on how stupid people are for watching stupid tv shows.... oooo lil close to home!

PBS would be safe today if they had kept their politics out of it!

But their CHOICE to lean left is what is going to cost them.

aww PBS is too smart for the simple minded Repub. Maybe if you didn't constantly cut teachers and libraries you could understand what is on PBS.

Sorry but the lack of wanting to learn ANYTHING to better yourself by investing a little time and EFFORT is the sign of a DemoCrap....go see if your welfare checks in the mail.

the whole origin and the whole point of media is to challenge the establishment, which naturally tends to lean right. if the establishment allowed liberal voices to be heard then there would have been little need for the media or the united states to be founded in the first place.

anyway, the discover - TLC - history channel network has indeed turned in to a pile of shite. discovery magazine is still great, but PBS remains worlds ahead of them in program quality. ...as of the last time i personally watched, anyway.

I just don't get why people want to watch 'Kate and her Eight' or 'Honey Boo Boo'. Their IQ must be sub-normal.

TLC now produces programs people actually watch. It's not my choice of entertainment, but unlike PBS I'm not forced to pay for it against my will.
