A few things come to mind...
hats seemed to be mandatory, but shoes were not.
Even the dirt poor kids had enough money to buy cigarettes.
All the people in these photos are probably now dead.

#50 I guess it's cruel to laugh here, but I did it...
Most of these kids looks like mini grown ups cuz of the clothes and their faces. Life must have been hard for many of them.
