These unusual buildings were designed by architect Piet Blom. Several dozens of such cube-shaped houses called Kubuswoningen were built in the Dutch towns of Rotterdam and Helmond in the midlle of the ‘70s. The total area of each house is around 100 square meters (1075 sq. ft.), though about a quarter of the space is unusable due to angled ceilings. In 2009 several cubes were converted into a hostel.

Some guys bought about 1500 balloons to prank their roommate. Let's say this one's quite a fun one!

The Arecibo Observatory is a radio telescope near the city of Arecibo in Puerto Rico. You may recognize it from various movies such as GoldenEye or The Losers, TV series like The X-Files or even video games (GoldenEye 007 or Just Cause 2).

Fyi: the observatory's 305 m (1,000 ft) radio telescope is the largest single-aperture telescope ever constructed.
