The sinkhole is estimated at 100 feet across and the rescue of Jeff has been halted until engineers can determine the exact borders of the hole as it is likely to continue to grow. Although Jeff’s body has not been found, there is not much hope that he survived.

...and just a week earlier, Jeff's wife demanded that he move the bed from one side of the bedroom to the other. I think the police should be looking at this as a well thought out and complicated murder plot.

And I'm not sure whether "Life & death" is a laughing matter, too. But wherever Jeff is, he could use the slightest bit of hope a midst the dark wet brown shithole that he's in.
