Footballers don't deserve so much money for doing so little, when others work so much harder and longer all their lives and never enjoy a comfortable lifestyle. I'm glad he took that little knock.
LOLMASTER5000 has a point. Sports figures, movie and pop stars aren't usually very bright and offer little or nothing for the betterment of society, but make fortunes while nurses, teachers, carpenters and plumbers, etc, who all contribute to the rest of us, make next to nothing in comparison.
What also gets me is that there are celebrities who rave on and on about giving to charity, shaming the general populace into giving their genuinely hard-earned money away. Most of these clowns make more in /interest/ on their bank balance in a year than most people make as a salary. Therefore I propose a celebrity tax whereby a small proportion for performances, events, royalty payments, etc, goes to charity. Imagine how much better equipped charities would be by that and how little or no consequence to the celebrity that would cause.
