Bourton-on-the-Water was the site of several radiation tests on it's citizens during the 1950's. Oddly enough, the radiation didn't directly affect the citizens but slightly altered their DNA and their descendents have become a race of giants.
The Royal Family has successfully kept this a secret, until now.

WP entry says it's 1:9th scale and is a model of BotW within the real village. and that the model town even contains a model town of itself!
