When care workers became concerned about this woman’s health, fire-fighters were called in to rescue the woman from the first floor of her apartment in Essex where she lived with her son. It took the team of rescuers seven hours to free her as years of hoarding meant that the bedsit was crammed with rubbish, clothes, paper, furniture and other materials and she refused to leave it.
