they're harmless to people, so no reason to go around spraying cans of carcinogenic raid like an idiot unless you haven't sealed your home properly. in that case, you should seal your home properly and leave nature alone.
termites are very interesting creatures with a complex social order and both a king and a queen that can live for decades. they only produce winged forms once in a while to mate and establish new colonies. but most of those die. so just seal your home and don't panic.
