They look like they get enough food, they don't look unhealty just dirty like a wild horse.

I've seen wild horses, they are usually cleaner because they can get out of the mud. Same with domestic horses and cattle.

In that regard, the entire area seems like a mudpit. Can't hardly blame them for the rain.
Now, the home/barn and etc are ramshackled, which I'd say is the main issue. There are no clean places for them to get out of the mud.
Do wonder though, what is the significance of them being female though. Izi, are you insinuating that female farmers are less capable?
