Having water droplets and shampoo bits floating around would cause problems for the other ISS inhabitants, wouldn't it?
I would also think having a very short haircut would be advantageous to everyone.

They spend years preparing for this trip, but fail to cut the hair to a more practical length. Slightly disappointing, considering these are top scientists. I guess we can't escape woman logic, not even in space.

i was wondering about the stray water droplets when i watched one of those chris hadfield videos. it seemed mighty risky. but if you notice, she explains why they're so relaxed about it... complete faith in their air ventilation and condensation system.

I don't know why you'd want to keep your hair that long in space but for shorter hair, I'm imagining they could have a helmet of sort that has water and shampoo inside it and all you have to do is put on the helmet thingy for a bit a voila!

i have a feeling they tried out many such contraptions and in the end discovered that simple works best.

i don't see any particular reason they'd need to wash their hair very often, anyway. many such luxuries of modern life would have to be put on hold while they're up there.
