What's not to make sense? It is an intrinsic, universal constant between the circumference of a circle and the radius. Plus there's a rather interesting black and white art movie by the same name (not "Life of Pi", just "Pi"). Plus, the correct Greek pronunciation is "pee", as in the English letter "P", not "Pie".
