#20 is that really true? imagine winning a rich lawsuit and ruining a university's reputation because your dead uncle went on one last trip.

We had a milkman when I was a kid, circa 40 years ago. We had a refrigerator, but it was still very convenient to get fresh milk delivered every day or two. I think milkmen were killed off not just by the widespread use of refrigeration technology, but also by the rising cost of labor.
Ice Cutter
Before modern refrigeration techniques became widespread, ice cutters would saw up the ice on frozen lakes for people to use in their cellars and refrigerators. It was a dangerous job often done in extreme conditions.
