Yea, they lost out on potential windfalls but the world is littered with 100 times as many people who LOST shitloads of money in internet business gambles.
I personally lost 100k investing in www.duckfucking.com - the company made anatomically correct inflatable ducks for weirdos who like to fuck ducks. The only sales they made were to a couple whackjobs named dang and frosch.
The company went bankrupt within a year and took my investment (along with many others) with it...
